Uniforms


We recognize that the commitment to private school and to uniforms can cause additional stressors and we wanted to consider a way to help make it easier to get uniforms throughout the school year, and in sizes that may better fit your student (and allow the option to try them on). While we will continue to require polo KCA shirts Monday-Thursday, we are introducing a new plan for polos that we hope will help! Beginning in the 24-25 school year, you may purchase uniform-style polos at any store of your convenience and may add a logo (if you have a Cricut machine) or have them added in the school office for $5 per logo. Importantly, there are strict requirements (below) regarding shirt color, logos on the shirt, and how logos may be added. 

Uniform Sale Date: Current and new KCA families can come to KCA on July 13th to buy and sell used uniforms from 10-12, or drop off plain polos (without logos) in the colors listed for the updated seal to be added to your uniforms($5 per logo). If your polos are new, don’t wash them first. If they are used, please wash them without fabric softener prior to bringing them as it may make it harder to apply the logos. Contact the office with any questions!

Note: If you currently own KCA polos from the uniform store, these are still allowed. The uniform store is also available still if you’d like to purchase uniforms directly from Full Armor Custom Apparel. 
 
MATERIAL: While there are a variety of materials that are considered for uniform tops, we only allow cotton/cotton blends that are non-blouse material. These should be the thicker cotton material (like our current uniform tops). Silk, knit, satin, lace, and wool are examples of materials that are not permitted. Our current uniform tops are cotton/polyester blends, which are permitted. 

ALLOWED COLORS: Blue (Varying shades), dark green (hunter/forest), dark purple, gray (light or dark), and black.

SHIRT TYPE & FIT: The shirt must have a collar and be considered a polo “uniform” top. The shirt CANNOT have any logo other than the KCA logo. The shirt does not need to be baggy, but should avoid being overly fitted. No pockets.

KCA LOGO: The KCA logo must be the seal logo, in white, and on the students left side (right under the student’s collar bone). Please contact the school office at info@kcaroanoke.org to receive the logo svg file if you plan to make your own items, and correct sizing which is a required standard size.  

LOGO APPLICATION: The logo must be put on via Cricut (i.e. vinyl) or stitched. No one outside of the school office may charge to put a logo on a school shirt. **Please see the handbook: the KCA logo is not to be placed on clothing/items of any kind, sold, or otherwise altered without the express permission of the school office. Please do not use the school logo in this manner. In order to be able to offer this additional route for uniforms, it is essential that all of the above criteria be met. Shirts that do not meet the criteria (as determined by the administration/board) would not be permitted to be worn. 

 

Full Armor Custom Web Store 

We are excited to partner with Full Armor Custom Apparel.  The uniform store will close on  July 10th. Please note, uniforms will be delivered to KCA and handed out before the school year begins. We are asking that all K5-12th grade students have one purple polo for yearbook photos. This can be a purple KCA polo shirt you already own or a new one purchased online through Full Armor.   

* Polo shirts are needed for school every day. Spirit t-shirts from Full Armor or KCA fundraisers can only be worn on Fridays!

7th-High School students taking P.E. and those in sports elective will be required to wear KCA P.E. Uniform shirts and long black shorts for all P.E. classes. Shorts must be long and black (no more than 2 inches above the knee). You can order them through the Full Armor uniform store linked above for $6.50 or buy black long black basketball shorts at any store.

Note: ALL shirts, hoodies, and jackets worn during the day MUST be a part of the KCA uniform. Girls can wear plain-colored cardigans. Boys can wear 3/4 zip sweatshirts(without hoods) or crew neck sweatshirts in solid colors with polos underneath. 

Uniform bottoms in khaki, grey, black or navy are acceptable in pants, shorts, and skirts(no more than 2 inches above the knee). Skirts must be worn with leggings underneath.
