ALEP

Abundant Life Education Plan

KCA is excited to offer to every student in K5-12th grade an Abundant Life Education Plan, or ALEP. The ALEP is a plan document that identifies a student’s needs AND/OR strengths. This plan is not only about addressing a student with needs, but also students with particular strengths that would benefit from heightened focus and support. The ALEP addresses academics, a student’s spiritual life/goals, social skills, career, and community/family goals.

KCA firmly believes that each student was created in the very image of God (Genesis 1:27) and that each student was carefully designed, uniquely gifted, and that God has a plan for each one that each student should walk in (Psalm 139:13-14; Romans 12:6; Jeremiah 29:11; Ephesians 2:10). The purpose of the ALEP is so that each student recognizes their value, has the tools to succeed, and the resources to thrive in Christ’s purpose for their life.

Currently, KCA has worked/is working toward addressing student needs and goals by implementing more career-oriented learning options and information, by providing tools for college, by offering modifications where needed in academics, and by ensuring an open-door policy to ask for resources. Going forward, KCA intends to strengthen this motion by utilizing the ALEP to more fully individualize education- because each student was so individually created.

The ALEP is offered to every student. These plans can be very simple and just discuss where a student hopes to be. They can also be more complex to address multiple goals or needs. These plans are important as they not only help address resources so that students live an abundant life, but also as they help KCA to see where to funnel resources. It may not be possible to offer comprehensive services to each student; however, KCA will work to hear your student’s needs, desires, and goals and will strive to implement supports to help that student achieve their abundant life.

All students will have access to the ALEP- which means that no single group is singled out or missed!
