High School English

Welcome to High School English

Mrs. Rogers

Tomika Rogers was born in Roanoke, and earned her BA in Cross Cultural Ministries from Moody Bible Institute. She served as a missionary in Australia working with youth, churches, and among the international population using ESL (English as a second language) as a tool to open doors to share Jesus for fifteen years. During a short stint back in the states, she was the ESL teacher at Andrew Lewis Middle & Salem High school. During that time, Tomika was married to Scott Rogers, and they returned to Melbourne, Australia in the beginning of 2020. Following her time as a high school chaplain, they came back to Roanoke in 2022, where she first served as a teacher’s aide at KCA.

Tomika loves ice cream, ice cream, and more ice cream! Her other passions are serving God amongst international communities, family, and sharing laughter with others. Her favorite verse is 1 Thessalonians 5:16, “Rejoice evermore”.

She teaches High School English and our creative writing elective at KCA. When she’s not in the classroom, you can find her coaching our girls’ volleyball team. We call her “Coach Meeka” and we love having her on our KCA staff!
